Comfortable, ergonomic and functional work gloves keep your hands protected and help you work more efficiently. How do you find exactly the right glove models in TAMREX's impressively wide range?
The right gloves for every job
When choosing work gloves, start with their intended use – what kind of work you need them for and what you need to protect your hands from.
Do you need close-fitting, thin gloves with excellent tactile sensitivity (for precision work and handling small objects), or substantial, strong and durable work gloves (for heavy work that puts strain on your hands)? Perhaps you need something in between, offering a good level of tactile sensitivity as well as considerable protection against abrasion? Do your hands need protection against water, chemicals, cuts or heat? Your answers will help you identify the features you need in a pair of gloves.
TAMREX gloves – Estonian design and development
Our gloves are developed by our team at the TAMREX head office in Tallinn. We have built up our experience and expertise in glove manufacturing over 15 years, and today we can proudly place our work, sports and leisure gloves alongside the best in the world.
Each glove model takes 1.5–2 years of work before it reaches the shop shelves. The starting point is an idea of our own or a specific need from one of our major customers. We then work with various material manufacturers to find options that meet our high standards from the many available. The work continues with our partner factories in Asia. From a large number of manufacturers, we have sought out the most capable partners, who can make gloves to our instructions, using our selected materials, specified patterns and designs.
When the first samples arrive, our development team assesses the result and quality, after which we send the factory the corrections and changes we require. Fine-tuning the sizing takes the most time. A final model that meets our expectations is usually achieved after 4–5 rounds of sample adjustments. Testing follows, usually lasting around 6 months. If we are satisfied with the test results, we give the factory the green light to start production. Some time later, we can introduce the new glove model to you.
Around 70 TAMREX glove models in total have been through the lengthy process described above. Many older models have undergone several updates over time, improving an important feature or incorporating new materials and technologies. We keep up with the latest trends and your changing needs, creating new glove models and refining existing ones.
TAMREX premium gloves for demanding users
Our premium gloves share the name TAMREX PRO. This glove range offers the best possible quality in every detail – from the choice and variety of materials and expertly refined cuts right down to the last thread. Carefully considered, stylish design completes the package.
We use only the finest materials to make our PRO range gloves – carefully selected, top-quality full-grain leather and synthetic leather-like materials such as HexaGrip, DuraSoft and TouchGrip. Tried-and-tested, recognised technologies add value, including Velcro® hook-and-loop fastenings, TouchScreen touchscreen compatibility for using smart devices and Scotchlite™ reflective elements.
Stylish, sporty design. One of the distinguishing features of the PRO range gloves is their modern design and clever combinations of different materials. This makes the gloves more complex, time-consuming and expensive to manufacture, but the functionality, comfort, level of protection and durability achieved make the effort worthwhile.
PRO range gloves offer good grip and protection on the palm, flexibility, stretch and breathability on the back, and softness and flexibility between the fingers.
TouchScreen work gloves
Smart devices are increasingly used as work tools, so we are seeing growing demand for work gloves with TouchScreen functionality. The TAMREX glove range therefore includes a number of touchscreen-compatible work gloves that let you comfortably answer phone calls and use tablets or other screens. Sensitivity may be slightly reduced when using a screen protector.
Natural leather work gloves
The TAMREX range includes work gloves made from natural leather: soft, thin goatskin, thicker and stronger buffalo leather, and pigskin. Despite the rise of synthetic materials, natural leather remains a popular and functional material for gloves. Natural leather is soft and flexible, offers good grip, and is durable and breathable. Genuine leather gloves are spark-resistant!
Goatskin
Goatskin is thin, soft and yet very durable. The gloves mould well to your hands, ensuring tactile sensitivity. Goatskin is also naturally water-repellent and breathable. Goatskin gloves are versatile and can be used for a wide variety of tasks in dry conditions.
Buffalo leather
Buffalo leather is thicker than goatskin and withstands abrasion better, but offers less tactile sensitivity. Cowhide is also water-repellent and breathable.
Pigskin
Pigskin is stiffer than buffalo leather and goatskin, and offers less tactile sensitivity. Pigskin gloves are also slightly less water-repellent, as pigskin has larger pores that allow water to penetrate the gloves more quickly.
LEATHER GLOVE QUALITY. We use only carefully selected, top-quality full-grain leather to make our gloves. Leather quality is indicated by its grade: C, B, AB, A or the highest quality grade, A+. The differences depend, among other things, on which part of the animal’s body the leather comes from (varying in strength, thickness and elasticity) and whether damaged leather is also used to make leather products. Just as human skin is not flawless, animals also sustain injuries during their lives that leave scars. Using damaged or scarred leather as a raw material is cheaper, but significantly reduces the quality of the finished product.
TAMREX leather gloves are made from carefully selected, flawless A+ grade full-grain leather, which offers several advantages over gloves made from cheaper split leather. Full-grain leather is water-repellent and durable, whereas split leather does not repel water and wears out quickly. Split leather is a cheaper raw material, which is why it is commonly used in so-called budget gloves. As these gloves are labelled as genuine leather, you may unknowingly buy low-quality gloves.
Synthetic leather work gloves
We use several materials with different compositions and properties to make TAMREX synthetic leather gloves.
HexaGrip is a patented combination of polyurethane and nitrile with a textured, slightly rubbery surface featuring hexagonal elements that gives the gloves an excellent grip. HexaGrip is also water-repellent and offers a good level of touch sensitivity.
TouchGrip synthetic leather is a synthetic material with a smooth surface and a heat-pressed pattern. Its two main advantages are softness and excellent durability. TouchGrip offers good grip, although slightly less than HexaGrip. TouchGrip is not water-repellent, but offers slightly better touch sensitivity.
DuraSoft is an exceptionally soft synthetic leather with a smooth surface. Its properties are similar to those of TouchGrip. Durasoft therefore offers very good durability and touch sensitivity, but falls short of HexaGrip in terms of grip and water repellency.
A key advantage of all synthetic leather gloves over genuine leather gloves is that they dry quickly after getting wet, retaining their elasticity, flexibility and softness. Full-leather gloves can still be used after drying, but are slightly stiffer.
TAMREX synthetic leather gloves contain no harmful chemicals and are safe for you to wear.
Coated work gloves
Coated textile gloves are used for a variety of tasks where extremely high tactile sensitivity is essential. Thin textile gloves are dipped into a liquid synthetic coating material and left to dry. This creates a synthetic coating (PU, nitrile foam, latex or similar) on the palm and fingertips, providing protection against dirt and mechanical injuries.
Synthetic glove coatings vary in density. Denser materials have smaller pores, offering better protection against liquids and abrasion. Coatings with larger pores are softer and more breathable.
PU coating
PU-coated work gloves. PU, or polyurethane, is a material that offers extremely high tactile sensitivity, making these gloves suitable for any task that requires precision or handling small objects. Despite their very thin PU coating, the gloves are durable and offer good grip. The PU coating provides very good protection for your hands against dirt and dust.
PU-coated gloves are mainly suitable for use in dry conditions where the risk of mechanical injuries is lower. PU-coated work gloves have many satisfied users in warehousing and logistics, as well as in retail for handling money and displaying goods. PU-coated gloves are also a popular choice for household tasks and gardening.
Nitrile foam coating
Work gloves with a nitrile foam coating offer excellent abrasion resistance while maintaining fairly good tactile sensitivity. They are often used in the wood and metal industries, construction and other settings where abrasion resistance is needed or there is contact with oil or other lubricants.
Natural latex work gloves
The main advantages of natural latex work gloves are waterproofness and excellent durability. This makes them suitable for very demanding conditions, such as stonework, concrete work and similar tasks. These gloves are also a favourite among gardeners, as they offer good tactile sensitivity as well as abrasion resistance. Natural latex gloves provide an exceptionally secure grip.
Latex foam
The main advantages of latex foam work gloves are excellent grip even in wet and oily conditions, and outstanding comfort while you work. Work gloves with a latex foam coating feel truly soft on your hands. Although latex foam wears out faster than a standard latex coating, it offers better tactile sensitivity.
Double coating
Double-coated work gloves are waterproof, making them well suited to work in wet and damp environments. For example, work gloves made from natural latex have a latex foam coating on the palm. These are highly durable work gloves that keep your hands dry.
Textile gloves
Work gloves made from natural cotton, nylon or a blend of nylon and Spandex are comfortable, offer good tactile sensitivity and protect you from dirt and dust. Microdots on the palm ensure a good grip. These work gloves are suitable for dry conditions and tasks such as packing and sorting goods.
Welding gloves
Designed specifically for welding, these work gloves have longer cuffs and seams sewn with heat-resistant kevlar thread. Genuine leather protects against sparks and provides good tactile sensitivity. A good fit keeps you comfortable while you work.
Household gloves
Vinyl gloves
Waterproof gloves made from vinyl are a popular choice for household chores, cleaning tasks, handling chemicals and use in the food industry.
You may find many similar-looking gloves made from latex or latex blends on the market that actually let cleaning chemicals through. This is why people report allergic reactions despite wearing gloves. High-quality vinyl, however, provides protection against all the most common household cleaning chemicals.
Gloves with a thin cotton flock lining help keep your hands from sweating as easily and prevent the gloves from sticking uncomfortably to your skin. The gloves fit comfortably, are durable and do not cause allergic reactions.
Thicker nitrile gloves
Thicker nitrile gloves. Compared with vinyl and latex, nitrile is a thicker, stronger and more durable material. This makes nitrile gloves an excellent choice for the food industry, for example in fish processing, where contact with fins, bones and similar sharp objects quickly tears thin gloves.
The thicker layer of material offers better protection against sharp edges as well as cleaning chemicals. These comfortable, well-fitting gloves have textured palms for a better grip.
These gloves are the preferred choice for many paint manufacturers, as nitrile gloves protect against a wider range of chemicals than latex and vinyl gloves.
Gloves with greater chemical resistance
Gloves with greater chemical resistance. Our durable, cotton-lined nitrile gloves offer the highest level of protection in our range of chemical-resistant gloves. The long cuff (30 cm) protects your forearm, while the textured surface makes it easier to handle wet or oily objects.
Please note! When choosing gloves for handling different chemicals, it is important to check which glove materials are suitable and how long they can be used. Feel free to ask the TAMREX sales team, who will guide you to the right product or find a specialist solution to meet your needs.
Disposable gloves
The food industry, cleaning services, beauty services and catering are sectors where disposable gloves are used. They are made from various materials (latex, vinyl, nitrile) and in different thicknesses. They are available in powdered and powder-free versions.
Powdered or powder-free gloves
Our range at TAMREX includes only powder-free disposable gloves. The powder, a fine chemical dust, is actually a residue from the disposable glove manufacturing process. By default, disposable gloves come off the production line with this powder on them. Washing the gloves clean is an additional step that comes at an extra cost. This makes powder-free gloves slightly more expensive, but they prevent allergic reactions caused by chemical residues and excessive drying of the skin on your hands. We recommend choosing powder-free gloves!
Disposable nitrile gloves
Disposable nitrile gloves are the preferred choice for 90% of our customers. They are the gentlest on your hands, offer the best tactile sensitivity and are affordably priced.
Thin nitrile gloves are increasingly used for food preparation in home kitchens and for summer barbecues too. It is worth keeping a pack of thin nitrile gloves in your kitchen as well. You may be surprised how often you use them.
Disposable latex gloves
The advantage of latex is its high elasticity, which ensures exceptional tactile sensitivity. Latex gloves are used in medicine and similar fields that require particular precision and excellent tactile sensitivity. Latex is less durable than nitrile, so the gloves need to be changed more frequently.
Cut-resistant gloves
Cut resistance is rated from A–F, with the latter indicating the highest level of protection.
The risk of cuts is present in a wide range of tasks, making cut resistance a valuable additional feature in a pair of gloves. We recommend using cut-resistant gloves for general construction and other everyday tasks, even where the need for them may not be obvious at first glance.
Cut-resistant gloves are knitted from a special, exceptionally strong and cut-resistant fibre, which also gives the gloves outstanding abrasion resistance. The PU coating on the palm ensures a secure grip and protects your hands from dirt and oils.

Leisure gloves
In the workplace, your employer oversees the selection and use of personal protective equipment. At home, however, there is no such helpful oversight, and protecting your hands is your own responsibility.
We have designed many of our work gloves to be comfortable and look good during leisure activities too. In fact, whether you are doing paid work, training or enjoying a favourite hobby, your hands need just as much protection whenever there is a risk of injury.
TAMREX gloves are a tried-and-tested, reliable choice if you value top quality outside work too.
Gardening gloves
Professional and hobby gardeners alike have discovered the TAMREX glove range. There are several favourite models, as landscaping and gardening involve many different tasks: strenuous digging, delicate work with seeds, dirty and damp soil work, handling thorny plants and much more.
Whatever protection you need in the garden, you will find it in our top-quality glove range.
Do not let the lack of a floral pattern on the gloves put you off – the results of your hard work in the flowerbed will provide all the floral beauty you need!
Work gloves for children
We have made several of our much-loved glove models in children's sizes. This means we can offer the benefits of tested and proven gloves to the youngest members of your family, whose wellbeing we often value most of all.
Get your children involved in your activities from an early age and teach them safe working practices and how to use protective equipment.
Durable and comfortable work gloves are also ideal for outdoor play in cooler weather – after all, play is children's work.
TAMREX Repair hand cream
If the skin on your hands has become damaged, TAMREX Repair hand cream can help – an effective solution that helps injuries heal faster.
With a high urea content (10 %), the cream restores and repairs damaged or cracked skin, while also providing daily protection and hydration for healthy hands. Fragrance-free, with a pleasantly light texture, the cream absorbs easily and you can feel its effects straight away.
Originally developed for men, this effective hand cream has also become a favourite with many women!
Glove comfort
Comfortable gloves make work more pleasant. To ensure an excellent fit, TAMREX gloves follow the natural shape and movement of your hand and are correctly proportioned.
CUTS AND MATERIALS. If you let your hand hang freely, you will notice that your fingers and palm are slightly curved and your thumb sits opposite your index finger. Well-fitting work gloves are achieved through skilful 3D cutting or the use of lightweight, elastic materials.
Truly comfortable gloves belong in a higher price bracket because making them is labour-intensive, complex and time-consuming, and requires the best materials and proven technologies.
Comfort also comes from skilfully combining functional materials: stretchy, breathable fabric on the back of your hand and between your fingers ensures freedom of movement, while stronger, more durable material on the palm protects against friction, and touchscreen-compatible fingertips let you use smart devices.
SIZES. If you wear gloves every day, you will often encounter sizing problems. Gloves in the wrong size do more harm than they offer protection. They are uncomfortable and dangerous – gloves that are too small restrict your hand movements, while oversized gloves reduce your sense of touch and risk getting caught in machinery, interfering with your work or spoiling the result.
Knowing this, we at TAMREX invest considerable development time and money in ensuring that our glove sizes are accurate. We fine-tune every size of every model to suit the glove's specific characteristics – whether it is lined or unlined, or made from stretchy or more rigid material. This fine-tuning avoids situations where you need winter gloves one or two sizes larger than thin gloves because the manufacturer has added a thick lining to a summer glove without taking the time to measure and test the result.
A similar difference arises between gloves made from stretchy and non-stretchy materials. If the sizing of a synthetic leather glove is applied directly to an elastic textile glove, the latter will be too big for your hand. Again, you have to choose a smaller size because gloves made from elastic fabric need to fit snugly. If the sizing is transferred the other way round, the leather glove will be too small.
All of this can leave you confused and unsure of your correct glove size.
With TAMREX gloves, you can trust the size label. Thin gloves, winter gloves, elastic gloves and leather gloves all fit equally well. You can even order them from our online shop and buy gloves for your colleagues or family members with confidence.
We have introduced colour codes that you can recognise from a distance, allowing you to pick the right size without even checking the number. It is a convenient solution that makes shopping quicker.
