3D cut

Thanks to clever 3D cuts and stretch fabric panels in various areas, Snickers Workwear Flexiwork work trousers fit comfortably. Legs that are pre-bent during manufacture ensure freedom of movement.

Durability comes from the breathable, lightweight yet strong main fabric and tough Cordura® in areas where the trousers need to withstand friction (knees, leg ends, pocket assemblies, holster pockets, tool holders at the waist, etc.). Durable seams sewn with high-quality thread and reinforcement stitching in coloured thread extend the life of the trousers. Only top-quality components are used to make the trousers, including YKK zips, a rotating button, a strong belt buckle and more.

However, it is worth bearing in mind that the main advantage of RuffWork trousers – durability – can also be their main drawback. Highly durable fabrics are thicker and tougher. RuffWork trousers are therefore warmer, less breathable and may feel stiffer to wear.

Thanks to advances in material technology, work trousers in the FlexiWork and AllroundWork ranges already offer such good durability, while being lighter, thinner and more breathable, that many customers prefer everyday comfort to a longer service life. RuffWork work trousers are truly durable, but FlexiWork/AllroundWork trousers are still much more comfortable.

High-Visibility work trousers

In many working environments, ensuring that workers are clearly visible is vital. This is achieved with brightly coloured fabrics and reflective strips. Bright yellow or orange clothing provides high visibility in daylight, while high-quality reflective strips ensure safety in the dark when illuminated by lights.

The need for high-visibility clothing is determined by a risk assessment, which also specifies the required protection class in accordance with the EN 20471 standard. There are three classes: class 1 is the lowest, while class 3 provides the highest level of protection and visibility.

Work trousers with detachable holster pockets are a hybrid of the two previous models. Your working days can vary. Some days you need to carry more items, other days fewer.

Work trousers with detachable holster pockets are designed for just this kind of work. Their functionality also makes washing your trousers easier. Instead of emptying the holster pockets and finding temporary storage for everything, you can detach the pockets before washing and reattach them to your clean trousers afterwards.

You can attach the holster pockets to your work trousers using a zip and two press studs, and remove them when needed without the contents falling out.

Most work trousers in our range have durable knee pad pockets featuring clever Kneeguard™ technology. These are made from tough Cordura® fabric and can accommodate different knee pads. Your choice of knee pads depends on how much of the day you spend kneeling. Knee pads also need replacing over time.

The innovative Capsulized™ work trousers from Snickers Workwear are the world's first trousers with integrated knee pads certified to the EN 14404 standard for knee protection. Thanks to this innovative solution, you no longer need to fit knee pads into knee pad pockets or remove them before washing. Nor do you need to keep buying new knee pads or clearing debris and dirt out of the knee pad pockets. The knee pads are now securely and permanently attached to the work trousers.

A few years ago, a limited run of Snickers Workwear trousers for children, created on a fun whim, proved unexpectedly popular. Today, several models are already available.

These are excellent outdoor trousers: durable, comfortable and cool. They solve the problem of knees wearing out too quickly (no need to keep buying new joggers), while the many pockets hold all those important finds that have to be brought indoors to show you.

No compromises have been made in making these children’s trousers: comfort, functionality and durability are on a par with the adult models.

Snickers Workwear trousers are made from durable fabrics and threads, and the buttons, zips, press studs, buckles and other components are also of the highest quality. The trousers also feature a cleverly positioned system of reinforcement stitching that adds strength in strategic areas. On average, each pair has 20 reinforced seams, identifiable by their coloured thread.

To select fabrics with the best properties, the Snickers Workwear development team has set high standards that every fabric must meet before it is used. Various tests are carried out on site: abrasion, tear, tensile and stretch tests, as well as tests to assess how much the fabric twists, distorts and stretches after repeated washing. A fabric is only used once it meets the required threshold.

But what can you do to make your valuable work trousers last longer?

The right size

The first step is to choose the right size and a model that fits well. When trying on trousers, test them with a few movements: squat, sit, bend over, bend your knees and lift your legs. This gives you an idea of whether the model, size and cut allow you to move freely. You will also feel where the fabric pulls or where there is excess material.

Work trousers in the right size do not expose your bottom or back, do not need adjusting when you sit or squat, and are comfortable to kneel in.

If your trousers are the wrong size, all the clever little functional details end up in the wrong place. For example, the knee pad pockets may sit too high or too low, and the various pockets may not be easy to reach. The reinforcement stitching system will not work as intended either, because stress occurs in the wrong places, where there is no reinforcement, which can cause the trousers to fail sooner than expected.

Short, regular and long sizes add up to more than 70 sizes in total. Although we do not stock all of them in TAMREX stores, we can order the size you need. Regular washing

Washing is a very important factor in the durability of your work trousers. We often hear that there is no point washing trousers that will only get dirty again straight away. However, work trousers need regular washing. Not washing them is the most common reason why the fabric wears out quickly. This usually happens where sweating and frequent movement occur together: the crotch area.

Perspiration deposits microscopic salt crystals in the fabric. Friction moves these sharp-edged crystals back and forth, wearing the fabric thinner.

Wash your work trousers regularly to keep the fabric clean and help it last longer. Many Snickers Workwear trousers are made from quick-drying fabrics. Trousers washed in the evening can usually be worn again the following morning. Many companies buy two pairs of trousers for each employee at a time, so there is always a clean pair in reserve.

Do not use fabric conditioner when washing. It contains particles that rub the fabric fibres, making them soft but also wearing them thinner over time.

Work trouser comfort

Snickers Workwear places great importance on the comfort of its work trousers and puts considerable effort into achieving it. Creating comfort is a complex process that requires extensive knowledge, skills, experience and dedicated specialists.

Making one pair of Snickers FlexiWork trousers takes 2 hours (122 minutes). Production involves 184 steps, 40,000 stitches and 46 additional components (buttons, buckles, zips, labels and so on). This is a very long time in mass-production terms, but premium work trousers cannot be made in less time.

On average, a pair of Snickers Workwear FlexiWork trousers consists of 64 fabric pieces and 6 different fabrics. Combining the pattern pieces creates a 3D garment that follows your body shape and movements, while different types of fabric are positioned to add stretch or strength where needed.

The pre-bent trouser legs are also created through the pattern pieces. This means that a trouser leg following the natural curve of your legs is shaped during sewing.

You should not have to give your work trousers a second thought throughout your working day.

Good airflow and the release of excess body heat are also important for comfort. This requires breathable materials. Depending on the model, thinner, stretchier and quick-drying fabrics are added in areas where you perspire more. Some models have ventilation zips on the inner thighs that you can open to cool down, while others also feature a covered panel behind the knees that allows air to escape.

Of course, trousers are only comfortable if they are the right size. Trying them on is essential when choosing trousers, so you can tell whether a particular model suits you.
