WOOLPOWER LITE merino wool T-shirt
This lightweight merino wool T-shirt feels soft and comfortable against the skin. Its distinctive design, with side seams moved towards the back and raglan sleeves, helps prevent shoulder chafing when carrying a rucksack. The longer back keeps the lower back covered.
Woolpower LITE garments can be worn all year round. They provide warmth when it is cold and help keep the wearer cool in warmer conditions.
Woolpower base and mid-layer clothing is made entirely in Sweden. It is easy to care for, does not irritate even very sensitive skin and provides exceptional warmth in the most extreme conditions.
Made in Sweden, this lightweight merino wool T-shirt suits warmer conditions when only a little extra warmth is needed. Its denser knit makes it thinner and cooler, providing less insulation than Woolpower 200, 400 or 600 garments, despite containing more wool than wool terry fabric. It combines well with other Woolpower garments in a wide range of conditions.
The distinctive circular-knit design helps avoid the discomfort sometimes caused by numerous seams. The seams are positioned slightly away from their usual locations: for example, the side seams and the lengthwise sleeve seams have been moved towards the back. This helps prevent rubbing between the arms and body during movement. The T-shirt is comfortably long, with an even longer back to keep the lower back covered.
Woolpower wool garments have many benefits: they retain heat, breathe well, do not itch, need less frequent washing, resist perspiration odours, can be washed at 60 degrees, are durable and keep the wearer warm even when wet, to name just a few.
Warm and breathable!
Depending on the specific garment (LITE range, wool terry 200, 400, etc.), the specially knitted merino wool fabric provides excellent insulation. The thicker the wool layer, the more air it can trap (as in wool terry), helping to retain body heat more effectively.
Does not itch!
Many people say they cannot tolerate wool against their skin. In reality, wool fibres vary greatly. Exploring the reasons for itching takes us all the way to what merino sheep eat and how they live.
Sheep that spend the whole year outdoors grazing on fresh vegetation produce long, fine and curly wool fibres. Merino sheep that spend part of the year indoors eating dried or prepared feed have shorter, coarser and stiffer fibres. Garments made from such fibres itch because the fibres are not soft enough to bend against the skin.
Woolpower works with merino sheep farms on the fertile lands of Patagonia and Uruguay.
From happy sheep to happy people!
Easy care!
One of the natural properties of merino wool is its antibacterial action. This is convenient for wool wearers: the garment resists perspiration odours and does not need frequent washing (airing it outdoors or in a well-ventilated room is often enough). When washing is needed, a 60-degree programme and Woolpower wool detergent can be used. The lanolin in the detergent helps preserve the garment's desirable properties wash after wash, allowing Woolpower clothing to be worn for many years.
Durability!
The outer layer of Woolpower merino wool clothing contains a small proportion of synthetic fibres to extend its useful life. The surface in contact with the skin, however, is entirely natural and comfortable.
Please note: this is natural merino wool. The wool pills that develop over time with wear are proof of this. We call them our 'pills of pride' :), because practicality, simplicity and a slightly rugged look are characteristic of Woolpower wearers.
