100% waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex®

Gore-Tex garments are exceptionally durable and waterproof, helping the wearer stay dry and comfortable even throughout the longest working day. All seams are also sealed with durable, specially developed Gore-Seam® tape to prevent rain from penetrating at the seams.

Gore-Tex® offers excellent waterproof protection while allowing excess body heat to escape. There are 3.5 billion pores in every 1 square centimetre of Gore-Tex material. These pores are 20 000 times smaller than a water droplet but 700 times larger than a water vapour molecule. Liquid water therefore cannot pass through from the outside, while water vapour generated inside the jacket during movement can escape.

37.5® technology insulation and 3D mesh lining

The 37.5® insulation layer and attractive 3D mesh lining help maintain a comfortable body temperature. The 37.5® technology responds to moisture: excess moisture can make the wearer feel either too hot or too cold. Active particles made from volcanic sand are incorporated into the fabric. Their billions of micropores greatly increase the material’s surface area. The particles absorb infrared radiation in the spectrum emitted by the human body and convert it into energy that drives their action. When there is no moisture, they retain energy generated by the body to help keep it warm. When moisture appears as perspiration vapour and the wearer begins to overheat, that energy helps move excess moisture out of the fabric while it is still vapour, before sweat can build up. The particles spread the moisture rapidly over a large fabric surface so that it can evaporate quickly. When the temperature inside the jacket falls, the same particles release the stored body heat at the time it is needed, helping the wearer stay warm.

The 37.5 technology also captures unpleasant odour particles and releases them only during washing and drying. The particles derived from volcanic sand remain firmly embedded in the fabric throughout the garment’s service life.

3D cut and thoughtful details

Pre-bent sleeves feature generous stretch panels across the back, providing freedom of movement and comfort in any position. Elasticated cuffs with thumbholes help prevent cold wind from entering the sleeves, while extended cuffs over the backs of the hands help direct rainwater away. Hook-and-loop adjustments allow the sleeve openings to be tightened as needed. A stylish reflective pattern on the back of each sleeve helps make the wearer more visible in the dark.

The substantial, well-fitting high collar protects against the wind, while the extended back gives extra weather protection. A drawcord at the hem adjusts the jacket’s width. The detachable hood has a small peak and can be adjusted around the face, at the back of the head and at the nape of the neck.

The strong, high-quality two-way zip improves comfort and allows the jacket to be opened from below, for example when bending down or getting into a car. A slightly lowered hanging loop is discreet and does not get in the wearer’s way.

The jacket has eight practical pockets in total: one on the left sleeve, two chest pockets (one with a press stud for an ID badge holder), two roomy side pockets and a further three internal pockets.
