The main purpose of thermal technical base layers is to keep the skin dry during physical activity in cold conditions, whether during sport, work or play with children on a sledging hill.

This is achieved with quick-drying, soft technical underwear made from a unique synthetic blend of polyamide and nylon, which transfers moisture away from the skin into the next clothing layer. The skin therefore stays dry and the body does not cool down. The polypropylene components help keep unpleasant odours at bay.

The bottoms should be tried on before purchase, choosing a size that fits closely against the body, as this allows them to work most effectively.

Different knit structures in the bottoms have different functions. For example, thicker fabric over the major muscles provides insulation and support. In areas where perspiration is greater (such as the groin), a more open knit provides better ventilation. Different parts of the body perform different functions and therefore need appropriate protection.

Several hours of intense movement place extreme demands on anything in contact with the skin. Over time, bottoms made from unsuitable fabric can chafe sensitive areas. It is therefore worth choosing underwear without seams.

The wide, stretchy and soft waistband does not dig in or pinch, yet stays securely in place.

The stretchy, anatomically shaped bottoms fit like a second skin. They are barely noticeable, allowing full concentration on the task at hand while the base layer does its work.

Wear the bottoms under work trousers or tracksuit bottoms, and under winter trousers in very cold weather. They retain warmth and, during strenuous activity, transfer moisture away from the body.

The bottoms are highly resistant to both washing and abrasion. Wash them at 60°C to remove unpleasant odours and bacteria that do not die in water at 30-40°C – and even after years of use, the bottoms will still look almost new!
