The main purpose of thermal technical base layers is to keep the skin dry during physical activity in cold conditions, whether during sport, work or play with children on a sledging hill.

This is achieved with quick-drying, soft technical underwear made from a unique synthetic blend of polyamide and nylon, which transfers moisture away from the skin into the next clothing layer. The skin therefore stays dry and the body does not cool down. The polypropylene components help keep unpleasant odours at bay.

The top should be tried on before purchase, choosing a size that fits closely against the body, as this allows it to work most effectively.

Different knit structures in the top have different functions. For example, thicker fabric over the major muscles, shoulders and kidney area provides insulation and support. In areas where perspiration is greater (underarms, back and chest), a more open knit provides better ventilation. Different parts of the body perform different functions and therefore need appropriate protection.

Several hours of intense movement place extreme demands on anything in contact with the skin. Over time, a base layer top made from unsuitable fabric can chafe sensitive areas. It is therefore worth choosing underwear without lengthwise seams or with seams cleverly positioned away from vulnerable areas.

The stretchy, anatomically shaped top fits like a second skin. It is barely noticeable, allowing full concentration on the task at hand while the base layer does its work.

The top is highly resistant to both washing and abrasion. Wash it at 60 degrees to remove unpleasant odours and bacteria that do not die in water at 30-40 degrees – and even after years of use, the base layer will still look almost new!
