HULTAFORS AXES – 300 years of craftsmanship
Hultafors axes are hand-forged. They have been made using traditional methods since 1697.
At Hults Bruk in Östergötland, master smiths practise a craft that very few others can match. Only a handful of forges worldwide employ craftsmen capable of work at this level.
Exceptional material
Hultafors axe heads are forged from Swedish axe steel of consistently high quality. The steel is hammered repeatedly until the axe takes its final shape. This costly method makes the steel denser and the axe more durable. An axe made this way cannot be compared with one forged with only a few blows.
Hultafors' hardening process produces a clearly defined hardened zone within which the axe can be sharpened without weakening the edge. With proper use, Hultafors axes can last for generations.
