COFRA Total Black Boa® safety shoes S3 ESD SRC
COFRA Total Black safety shoes incorporate a range of exciting innovations. The uppers are made from a single seamless piece of highly durable, water-repellent Techshell fabric; the lining is 3D Sany-Dry mesh, inside is a soft yet supportive Light Foam insole, and the outsole is made from the remarkable XL Extralight material which, despite its low weight, meets all safety-footwear requirements. There is also a barely noticeable fibreglass toe cap and, of course, the Boa® fastening system, making the shoes easier than ever to put on and take off.
The innovative Techshell fabric features a silicone structure woven into the textile, making the shoes exceptionally durable. Abrasion and tear-resistance tests indicate that the former record-holder, Cordura® has been overtaken by COFRA's innovative material. The water-repellent uppers are also lightweight, flexible and breathable.
The shoes have a 3D Sany-Dry® lining. It is breathable, antibacterial and abrasion-resistant, and helps regulate the microclimate inside the shoes by absorbing moisture and wicking it away.
The Light Foam ESD insole is moulded from exceptionally soft, comfortable polyurethane foam and has low electrical resistance. Its anatomical shape supports the arch of the foot, while the abrasion-resistant fabric covering absorbs moisture and keeps feet dry; this ensures excellent comfort and shock absorption.
The shoes are completely metal-free. The lightweight fibreglass toe cap is thin yet highly resistant (200J), non-magnetic, compact and light (only 60g compared with 90g for a steel toe cap). Metal-free fibreglass does not conduct heat or cold.
Zero Perforation puncture-resistant (P) polyethylene midsole is made from an exceptional PEP material (almost entirely recycled fabric). It provides 100% protection, is also antistatic (A), even lighter (55% lighter than other textile soles), more flexible and softer, while its honeycomb structure provides exceptional thermal insulation.
The outsole is made from innovative XL Extralight material that is exceptionally light, flexible and durable. Its dense, expanded structure offers excellent physical and mechanical properties: it repels liquids and chemicals (acids/alkaline substances), prevents bacterial growth and withstands environmental effects, especially at low temperatures. It has excellent resistance to water, UV radiation, chlorine and salt, so its colour does not fade over time and the material lasts. Its low weight (3 times less than other materials with comparable mechanical properties) has enabled the production of very light safety shoes (around 420 g). The shoes also combine contemporary design with demanding safety requirements. A special heel tread helps prevent slipping on wet surfaces. The thick outsole material provides a softer step.
The innovative BOA® fastening system improves ease of use and safety. There are no loose laces to catch, and putting the shoes on and taking them off is easier than ever. BOA® is strong, secure and simple to operate: lift the dial to release the cable. Put on the shoe, press in the dial and turn it towards the outside of the foot until the shoe fits securely. The shoe then remains firmly fastened all day; BOA® does not release or loosen on its own during work. Other BOA® advantages include even tightening and excellent durability (the steel cable will not break).
Suitable for use in the electronics industry (ESD) and other workplaces requiring footwear with low electrical resistance. ESD-certified shoes provide continuous dissipation of static electricity and meet the stricter EN 61340-5-1 standard, with resistance between 0.1MΩ and 35 MΩ. Most safety shoes offer ordinary antistatic protection (A), with electrical resistance between 0.1 MΩ and 1000 MΩ, a range too broad for sensitive workplaces. COFRA ESD-certified shoes are equipped with the highest technical specifications to achieve the best conductivity values. All COFRA ESD footwear is designed for very low electrical resistance. Wearing these shoes can minimise the risk of electrostatic charges causing fires or explosions.
The shoes comply with the standard: EN ISO 20345: 2011, S3, SRC, ESD EN 61340-5-1
