Water-repellent TechShell uppers

TechShell is an exceptionally durable and strong yet flexible and lightweight material. Water-repellent and breathable TechShell contains highly abrasion-resistant fibres woven directly into the fabric. The stronger structural fibres are visible on the uppers. Taped seams help keep feet dry.

Thinsulate™ lining

The main advantage of Thinsulate™ lining is its excellent insulation even in a very thin fabric layer. These boots have Thinsulate™ 200 g insulation, thick enough for ankle boots to keep feet warm without making them sweat.

The inner lining also includes aluminised WinTherm® polyester felt, which provides an effective barrier against cold, retains body heat and uses an aluminised micro-layer to reflect body heat back towards the feet.

Comfortable BOA® quick fastening

BOA® improves the boots’ ease of use, durability and safety. It has been tested in the most extreme conditions: water and sand, mud and dust, cold and heat. The strong steel cable comprises 49 extremely fine stainless-steel strands covered with a durable nylon coating.

Putting the shoes on and taking them off is quick and easy. The cable can be tightened with one hand, without removing gloves. BOA® secures the shoes evenly and firmly throughout the working day. Very small adjustment increments allow BOA® tension to be tailored particularly precisely to each foot. BOA® also improves safety: there are no loose laces to catch on anything.

The BOA® quick-fastening system is covered by a warranty for the lifetime of the footwear.

The BOA® system on COFRA Odino boots is positioned on the outer side of each boot. In most cases, the position of BOA® does not matter, but in certain working environments or postures a side-mounted BOA® can get in the way. On the other hand, a side-mounted BOA® provides more room for turning the tightening dial.

Durable PU/nitrile rubber outsole

The outsole material is important for both slip resistance and temperature tolerance. Outsoles made exclusively of PU become stiff and slippery in cold weather.

By contrast, the Cold Defender outsoles of COFRA Odino boots, which contain nitrile rubber, retain their slip resistance and durability in cold down to -25 degrees and withstand heat up to 300 degrees (contact for 1 minute). Durable nitrile rubber extends higher over the toe area for improved abrasion resistance.

The Cold Barrier insole also retains warmth. Its anatomical shape supports the foot and absorbs walking impacts. The antistatic insole is made from soft, scented polyurethane and covered with a thin, heat-insulating fleece layer.

Metal-free protective components and wide last

The boots have a fibreglass safety toe cap (200 J) to protect against heavy falling objects. A puncture-resistant (Zero Perforation) midsole made from tough yet lightweight, flexible APT Plus textile protects the foot from sharp objects on the ground.

The boots have a comfortable, well-fitting wide last (12 Mondopoint).
