Soft, warm and stretchy

With 45% merino wool, this stretchy technical base layer combines natural wool properties such as antibacterial performance, moisture absorption and warmth. It works well as a warm first layer in cold conditions, especially when the level of activity varies.

Insulation and ventilation

The base layer is knitted as one piece with different structures in different zones, providing functional performance tailored to the needs of different parts of the body.

In areas prone to perspiration, the knit becomes thinner, sometimes almost mesh-like, allowing excess heat to escape faster and helping to keep the body dry. Over the kidneys, the knit is denser and warmer. At the lower sleeves and in parts of the back, the inner surface has a looped texture for even better heat retention.

High collar

One of the greatest advantages of this base-layer top is its high collar. Made from double-layer fabric, it is just the right height: long enough to cover the whole neck yet short enough not to get in the way. The collar fits closely around the neck, while the zip allows temperature adjustment. Open it to release excess heat and close it again to keep out wind and cold. At the top, the zip end tucks neatly beneath a fabric guard to prevent rubbing against the chin.

No longitudinal seams

Another important advantage is the absence of longitudinal seams along the sleeves and torso and of seams over the shoulders. During long periods of intensive activity (long hikes, physically demanding workdays, marathons and similar activities), these are precisely the areas where seams can cause chafing. This top has a different construction, with only raglan-sleeve seams.

Versatile use

This is a useful top for anyone who spends time outdoors in all weather. Thin Snickers technical base layers work best during vigorous movement, while Woolpower base layers provide excellent protection during intermittent or less active movement. This top falls between the two. It is a technical wool base layer that performs well both during active work and when activity levels fluctuate.

It combines the stretch of lightweight Snickers base layers with the benefits of wool. In very cold conditions with lower activity levels, however, Woolpower clothing is recommended because of its higher wool content and wool terry construction, which traps more body heat.

In moderate conditions, however, this top offers unprecedented comfort, warmth and protection. It makes no difference whether you are doing sport, working or spending your free time.

In warmer weather, a windproof or waterproof outer layer is sufficient; in colder weather, add a fleece or wool jumper as a middle layer.
