HOUSEGARD: fire safety from Scandinavia
The Swedish brand HOUSEGARD has been supplying high-quality fire safety equipment since 1991.
Wirelessly interconnect up to 40 alarms
The innovative HOUSEGARD Luma interconnected alarm system allows up to 40 different devices to be linked, including Luma carbon monoxide and heat alarms.
When one alarm is triggered, all connected alarms sound. The alarm that first detected the danger is identified by a rapidly flashing red LED, while the other interconnected alarms flash green.
Pairing the alarms is quick and simple. Select any alarm as the master unit and link the other alarms to it.
The Luma smoke alarms have an interconnection range of up to 100 metres in direct line of sight, without walls or other obstacles. The actual range in a typical home may be slightly shorter, depending on wall materials and the floor plan.
No battery replacement required, 10-year batteries
The smoke alarms in this set contain batteries designed to last 10 years and do not require replacement during that time. Replace the smoke alarms after ten years.
The alarms also provide an early low-battery warning.
Early fire warning
An optical smoke alarm is an excellent choice for protecting the home against fire. It responds to smoke and immediately provides an early warning. Never ignore an alarm signal. Check all rooms immediately and establish what triggered the alarm.
Luma smoke alarms check for smoke every 10 seconds. When smoke is detected, the alarm sounds in short, rapid beeps and a red LED flashes.
Test and silence button, fault warning signal
Each smoke alarm has a central test/silence button for checking operation and silencing false alarms. After the alarm is silenced, the red LED flashes 1 time every 10 seconds and no sound is emitted for 10 minutes unless additional smoke is detected. Silence mode ends automatically after 10 minutes.
Check the alarms regularly, preferably once a month.
For safer, more convenient testing and silencing without reaching up to the ceiling, an optional Housegard Luma remote control can be used to test and silence the alarms and identify which unit has been triggered.
The smoke alarms also provide a fault warning to indicate when a device is not functioning correctly.
Extend protection by connecting additional alarms
Up to 40 alarms can be interconnected, including Luma carbon monoxide and heat alarms. This provides a convenient way to manage the safety devices together.
Expand the system with a Hub (mobile alerts), remote control and additional siren
To receive safety alerts on a smartphone, add the Housegard Luma Hub. Connect it to the alarms and the “Smart Life” app (available from the App Store and Google Play) to receive notifications even when away from home.
Additional features include viewing battery levels, testing and silencing alarms, and more.
Without the Hub:
- Smoke alarms sound locally
- No mobile notifications
- No Wi-Fi connection required
With the Hub:
- Smoke alarms sound locally
- Notifications are sent to a mobile phone
- Remote testing and monitoring through the Smart Life app
- Additional functions: battery level, low-battery notification, ambient temperature around the device during a smoke alarm, and carbon monoxide concentration (ppm) from a carbon monoxide alarm.
- A home Wi-Fi connection is required
Housegard Luma remote control enables convenient testing and silencing without using a broom handle or putting oneself at risk on a stool. The remote can be mounted on a wall or kept elsewhere within easy reach.
Housegard Luma siren provides a convenient way to amplify alerts from a distant alarm, such as one in a garage, sauna or boiler room.
Installing and using smoke alarms
Before pairing, installing and using the smoke alarms, read the supplied instruction manual thoroughly. This helps users become familiar with the devices and their operation. Keep the instructions for future reference, including information about the different status signals.
The set includes 3M double-sided tape as well as screws and wall plugs for installation.
