COFRA Odoacre winter boots offer everything you would expect from a pair of boots. Exceptionally warm yet breathable, they have water-repellent uppers made from high-quality Italian leather, a slip-resistant outsole, lightweight yet effective safety features and a modern Boa® fastening system, which assures the quality of the footwear and makes the boots considerably easier to use.

Full-grain leather uppers provide several important benefits: water repellency, breathability and flexibility. These natural properties alone make the boots more durable, because full-grain leather can be flexed many times more before breaking than, for example, split leather coated with PU. In the latter case, the PU layer provides short-term moisture protection but crumbles very quickly. These boots use specially treated full-grain leather that retains its flexibility even at very low temperatures to help prevent the material from stiffening and cracking.

The upper part of the boots is made from strong, tough Cordura® nylon, adding even greater durability.

The innovative Boa® fastening system adds both convenience and safety. There are no loose laces to catch on objects, and putting on and taking off the boots is easier than ever. The tedious task of tightening and then loosening long rows of laces can become a thing of the past. BOA® tightens evenly and precisely to the degree required and releases the boots instantly.

BOA® is strong, reliable and easy to use: lift the dial to release the cable. Put on the boot, press the dial down and turn until it is securely fastened. BOA® will not release or loosen by itself during the working day. The BOA® fastening system is covered by a warranty for the entire service life of the winter boots!

The BOA® fastening is a quality mark in its own right: the patented system may only be used on footwear that passes tests and strict quality checks conducted by Boa Technology itself.

These boots can confidently be described as very warm. This is thanks to the thin but exceptionally warm Thinsulate™ B600 lining and the Win Therm® inner layer beneath, which incorporates aluminised felt. This breathable and antibacterial material with good abrasion resistance absorbs excess moisture and wicks it away.

The Cold Barrier insole prevents cold from the ground from reaching the feet. Shaped to support the ergonomics of the foot, this antistatic and pleasantly scented insole is made from soft PU compounds specially selected for their thermal insulation.

The Cold Defender outsole resists oil and various chemicals. It withstands both heat (1 minute of contact at +300 °C) and cold down to -25 °C. The boots have also undergone a Cold Insulation Test, under which the temperature inside the footwear must not fall by more than ≤ 10 °C after 30 minutes at -17 °C. In these boots, it fell by only 5 °C.

The nitrile content in the outsole material ensures the sole retains its properties even at low temperatures. Winter boots with PU-only outsoles become stiff in the cold and no longer provide the same slip resistance as soles containing nitrile.

These metal-free winter boots feature a lightweight, flexible APT textile puncture-resistant sole and a fibreglass safety toe cap (200 J). Fibreglass has excellent mechanical properties: it is extremely strong yet thinner (compared with composite), non-magnetic, a good insulator and lightweight (only 60g, compared with 90 g for a steel toe cap).

The wide last (12 mondopoint) improves comfort, while a polycarbonate and fibreglass stabiliser inside the sole protects the foot from twisting.

Complies with EN ISO 20345:2011.
