Water-repellent full-grain leather uppers
Full-grain leather remains the most highly regarded material for shoe uppers. The reason is its combination of properties, which synthetic materials have not been able to replicate. Full-grain leather is durable, flexible, water-repellent and breathable.
High-quality full-grain leather is used in the COFRA Besla boots. Regular treatment with leather grease or another suitable leather care product is recommended. This helps maintain the leather’s natural properties and extends the life of the footwear.
These ankle boots have a very stable construction and carry ESD marking, making them suitable for the electronics industry and other workplaces where low electrical resistance is required (electrical resistance between 0.75 and 100).
Comfortable BOA® quick fastening
BOA® makes the boots easier to use, more durable and safer. It has been tested under the most extreme conditions: water and sand, mud and dust, cold and heat. The strong steel cable consists of 49 extremely fine stainless-steel strands with a durable nylon coating.
Putting the shoes on and taking them off is quick and easy. The cable can be tightened with one hand, without removing gloves. BOA® secures the shoes evenly and firmly throughout the working day. Very small adjustment increments allow BOA® tension to be tailored particularly precisely to each foot. BOA® also improves safety: there are no loose laces to catch on anything.
The BOA® quick-fastening system is covered by a warranty for the lifetime of the footwear.
The BOA® system on COFRA Besla boots is positioned centrally. In most situations, the position of BOA® is unimportant, but in some working environments or postures a side-mounted BOA® can get in the way. On the other hand, a side-mounted BOA® provides more room for turning the tightening dial.
Durable PU/TPU outsole
The outsole material is important for both slip resistance and temperature tolerance. Outsoles made exclusively of PU become stiff and slippery in cold weather.
By contrast, the ESD-marked PU (polyurethane)/TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) soles of COFRA Besla boots offer better grip and retain good properties even in sub-zero temperatures.
Extra durability comes from a TPU reinforcement at the toe and tough fabric reinforcements at the heel, inside and outside.
Top Comfort ESD insole
The anatomically shaped soft, comfortable Top Comfort ESD insole supports the foot and absorbs walking impacts. The antistatic insole is made from scented polyurethane and has small ventilation holes to improve breathability. It absorbs moisture and helps keep the feet dry.
Breathable, moisture-absorbing Sany-Dry® lining
Sany-Dry® is a breathable, abrasion-resistant 3D fabric made from 100% polyester that wicks away moisture and helps keep the feet dry. It is covered in turn with a durable Lycra® outer fabric.
Metal-free protective components and wide last
The boots have a fibreglass safety toe cap (200 J) for protection against heavy falling objects. A puncture-resistant midsole made from tough yet lightweight, flexible APT Plus textile (Zero Perforation) carries ESD marking and protects the foot against sharp objects on the ground.
The shoes have a comfortable, well-fitting wide last (11 Mondopoint).
COFRA Besla boots comply with EN ISO 20345:2022.
